My Free Credit Report Copy

Posted on May 11, 2008

As a customer, you have the right to get a full access to your own credit line or what other people call “My free credit report”. The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act stated that every citizen is entitled to get a free copy of their annual credit report. A free credit report is a document that is made available to those who would want to get a view of their credit standing. It is provided by the three sources namely: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.

The sources of your free credit report do not necessarily send free credit report copy. You have to take the initiative and finish all the necessary requirements to get a copy of the free report. One of the things you need to do is to go online and research for information. Reliable resources for this kind of information are government websites. You can apply for a request online. This is the most convenient way of acquiring your free credit report. Otherwise, there is a phone number you can contact if you prefer to have it done through phone. TransUnion is said to process requests faster and easier than the two which are Equifax and Experion. Another means of requesting you credit information is by means of writing a complete form at the back of Annual Credit Report Request.

We have now more options in choosing the process for requesting our annual credit reports. We need to consider our time and resources in order to pick which method suits best your need and lifestyle.
